Freemasonry is a system of Morality, veiled in allegory and Illustrated by symbols. We aim to make good men better. Is there Greatness in you?
We Focus on and Promote:
Ethics – Our lives are based on honor and integrity, and we believe that honesty, compassion, trust, and knowledge are important.
Freedom– Masons value the liberties outlined in the U.S. Constitution and continually promote freedom of speech and expression, freedom to worship a Supreme Being in an individual way, and other important liberties.
Tolerance – The fraternity values religious, ethnic, cultural, social, and education difference. We respect the opinions of others and strive to improve and develop as human beings.
Personal Growth – Our continuous pursuit of knowledge, ethics, spirituality, and leadership brings more meaning to our lives.
Family – We strive to be better spouses, parents, and family members and are committed to protecting the well being of our members and their families, especially when they are in need.
Philanthropy – We make a difference in our communities through charitable giving, community service, and volunteerism.
Is Freemasonry a Religion? The simple answer is no. There are two things that Masons strictly avoid discussing in Lodge – religion and politics. The reason we avoid these topics is because they are topics that individuals become extremely passionate about when discussing. Our highest objective is peace and harmony amongst our members. We welcome men of all faiths, whether Christian, Muslim, Jewish or otherwise. One cannot, however, be an atheist to be a Mason.
Think of it like this: Freemasonry is an association of like-minded men who are intent on improving themselves through the bonds of brotherhood and the study of philosophy. ethics, morality and reason through the ages using our “working tools” symbolic reminders and illustrations of these concepts.
